Welcome to The Hidden Cost of Addiction in the Workplace: Understanding Impact, Reducing Risk, and Responding Effectively.

We are pleased to have you participate in this educational training designed to increase awareness, reduce organizational risk, strengthen recovery-supportive workplace practices, and support compassionate, informed leadership related to substance use, behavioral health concerns, and addiction in the workplace.

This course explores how addiction and behavioral health challenges may affect workplace safety, productivity, team dynamics, employee wellbeing, and organizational culture. Participants will learn to recognize common warning signs, understand the impact of stigma and psychological safety, respond appropriately to workplace concerns, and support healthier, more recovery-informed workplace environments.

Please begin by reviewing the course guide and meeting your instructor below. As you work through the module content, you will complete reflection exercises, workplace assessments, case studies, and knowledge review activities designed to reinforce key learning concepts.

For your convenience, the course guide has also been separated into individual module sections. PowerPoint slide decks, instructional videos, facilitator guidance, and visual learning graphics are included throughout the course to support your learning experience.

Feedback and discussion related to case studies and workplace scenarios will be provided within the instructional videos. At the conclusion of the course, you will complete a final course quiz to demonstrate understanding of the course material.

Once all modules have been reviewed and marked complete — including the final quiz — you will receive access to download your validated 3-Hour SHRM / NAADAC / IAPRC Certificate of Completion.
